Historical Performance
The following graph compares the cumulative total shareholder return on Northeast Investors Trust shares over the ten preceding fiscal years to the cumulative total share return on the Merrill Lynch High Yield Master II Index, assuming an investment of $10,000 in both at their closing prices on September 30, 1997 and reinvestment of dividends and capital gains.
The Merrill Lynch High Yield Master II Index is a market value-weighted index comprised of 1,800 domestic and yankee high-yield bonds, including deferred interest bonds and payment-in-kind securities. Issues included in the index have maturities of one year or more and have a credit rating lower than BBB-/Baa3, but are not in default. It is shown for comparative purposes only and reflects no deductions for fees, expenses or taxes.
Keep in mind that past performance does not guarantee future returns, and an investment in the Trust is not guaranteed.
